ENERGY EFFICIENCY APPLICATION FOR BUILDING MANAGEMENT
Cuatro Digital has worked with VA-TECNO on an intelligent energy solution for the buildings of UNED (Spain's National Distance Education University). Within this project we developed the communications module and the rules engine for intelligent temperature and lighting control, taking into account temperature, timetables, room occupancy and similar factors.
The main objective is to optimise how the heating, cooling and lighting systems in UNED's buildings operate, in terms of both cost and sustainability. That is:
- Optimising how equipment runs and avoiding unnecessary operating time, with the resulting savings in running costs.
- Reducing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
- Extending the service life of terminal heating and cooling units by reducing their operating hours.
- Transparent information on heating and cooling, air quality and similar data.
